Learning

An AI that learns your store, and shows you what it learned

Tycoon reads your store by itself when you install it. Then, every night, it looks at what worked in your store and tunes itself. You see every change in a weekly feed, approve new answers before they go live, and can undo anything.

What does Tycoon learn when I install it?

On install, Tycoon reads your store by itself: the catalog (products, variants, images, collections), your policies as you state them, shipping (delivery profiles, zones, free-shipping thresholds), brand voice, size charts or guides, and your own FAQ. You do not upload files, write prompts or type product descriptions into a dashboard.

Before going live you review the shop facts it found and approve them. Tycoon may only state facts you approved, such as shipping thresholds, return windows, delivery times and codes. Prices and stock are never part of what it learns; it reads them live for every answer. The how it works page walks through the full setup.

How does Tycoon get better over time?

Every night Tycoon looks at what worked in your store: which offers shoppers accepted, which recommendations led to a purchase, which questions helped shoppers decide and what it could not answer. It then tunes which offer to show, which product to recommend first and which question to ask first.

The loop has four parts, and each one is visible to you.

  1. Looks at what worked. Accepted offers, recommendations that led to a purchase, questions that helped shoppers decide, and questions it could not answer.
  2. Tunes itself. Which offer to show, which product to recommend first, which question to ask first.
  3. Proposes new answers. Drafted from your own pages, live only after you approve them.
  4. Tells you what it learned. A weekly "What I learned" feed shows every change.

What does a learned change look like?

Here is one lesson, with example numbers for illustration. A shopper adds a shirt to the cart and Tycoon offers a belt. Few shoppers accept. Tycoon tries matching linen pants instead, more shoppers accept, so it keeps offering the pants and retires the belt. The change appears in your feed with an Undo button.

What else can Tycoon learn about my shoppers?

Beyond offers, Tycoon learns which question to ask first, which product to recommend first, and which questions it could not answer. Each lesson comes from your store's own results, and each one shows up in your weekly feed, where you can review it, undo it or turn learning off.

  • Question order. For example, for dresses it might switch the first question from "Which size?" to "What's the occasion?" because more of your shoppers decided that way.
  • Recommendation order. For example, if shoppers who ask for a gift more often buy a candle set than a single candle, it can recommend the set first.
  • Knowledge gaps. An unanswered question such as "Do you ship to Canada?" becomes a new answer drafted from your shipping page, waiting for your approval.

Do I have to approve what Tycoon learns?

New answers go live only after you approve them. Tycoon drafts them from your own pages, for example a shipping answer from your shipping page, and holds them until you click Approve. Tuning changes appear in the weekly "What I learned" feed, where you can undo any of them or turn learning off entirely.

This keeps the owner in charge of what the store says. Tycoon may only state shop facts you approved, and a learned answer is no exception. Unanswered questions also feed your knowledge gaps list, so you can see where your store's pages are thin.

Is my store's data shared with other stores or used to train AI?

No. Tycoon learns only from your store, and what it learns is never shared with other stores. Merchant and shopper data are not used to train AI models without explicit written consent, and the AI providers Tycoon uses process requests for inference only, under no-training terms.

A lesson that works in a jewelry store tells Tycoon nothing in a candle store, and that separation is deliberate. Each shop's identity is verified by Shopify's signature, and everything is kept per shop. The security and privacy page explains how data is kept apart.

How do I know the learning is actually helping?

A small, randomly chosen share of visitors does not see Tycoon, and the dashboard compares their revenue with everyone else's. That control group keeps measuring the real effect while Tycoon tunes itself. On the Tycoon plan this holdout measurement runs continuously; Growth includes one 30-day lift test.

Without a control group it is easy to credit the AI for sales that would have happened anyway. Our guide on measuring AI chatbot revenue with a holdout test explains why.

Which plan includes nightly learning?

Every plan learns your store on install. Free knows up to 25 products, and Starter and up cover the whole catalog. Full nightly learning with proposals you approve is part of the Tycoon plan ($139/month, or $1,334/year), which also adds continuous holdout measurement and the full Store Manager.
