Feature: support automation
Reduce repetitive support tickets on your Shopify store
Tycoon brings AI customer service to your Shopify store. It answers the everyday questions that fill a support inbox, around the clock and in the shopper's language. It answers from facts you approved, checks order status for signed-in shoppers, and hands off to your team when a person is needed.
Which support questions can an AI chatbot answer on Shopify?
Tycoon is built for the everyday questions shoppers ask again and again: where's my order, how long shipping takes, how a product fits, whether a size is in stock, and your returns policy when the shopper asks. It answers around the clock, in the language each shopper writes in, and hands off when a person is needed.
These questions share a pattern. The answer already exists somewhere in your store: in the order, the delivery profile, the size chart or the policy page. The work is finding it quickly and saying it correctly. That is the part Tycoon takes on, so your team can spend time on the conversations that need judgment.
| Shopper question | Where the answer comes from |
|---|---|
| Where's my order? | The shopper's own order, read live when she is signed in (Starter and up) |
| How long does shipping take? | Delivery times and zones from your approved facts |
| Do I get free shipping? | Your approved free-shipping threshold and the live cart |
| Does it run small? | Your size charts and guides |
| Is the medium in stock? | Live stock for that variant |
| Can I return this? | Your returns policy as your store states it, only when asked |
How does Tycoon handle "where is my order" (WISMO) questions?
When a shopper signed in to your store's customer account asks about an order, Tycoon looks up her own orders from the last 60 days and tells her the status. It only does this when she asks, it only shows her own orders, and nothing about the order is stored. Order tracking is included on Starter and up.
Each WISMO question is simple, but it still takes a person's time. Answering them in the chat, at the moment the shopper wonders, is a direct way to keep them out of the queue. Our guide on reducing WISMO tickets on Shopify covers the other levers too, such as clear shipping expectations and a useful order status page.
For privacy, Tycoon never reads or stores customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses, and conversations are keyed to an anonymous browser session. See security and privacy.
How does it keep support answers accurate?
Before going live, you review the shop facts Tycoon found, such as shipping thresholds, return windows and delivery times, and approve them. It may only state facts you approved. Stock and prices are read live. Every draft is checked before it is sent, and a figure that does not match is blocked and rewritten.
Tycoon does not invent policies, ingredients or certifications, and it does not give medical, legal, financial or safety advice. It refers those questions to the product label, to you or to a professional. It also never volunteers returns or cancellation; it explains your returns policy when the shopper asks.
When does the chatbot hand off to a person?
Tycoon always offers a person from your team, and it hands off when a person is needed or the shopper asks for one. It says plainly that it is an AI, the window is labelled "AI assistant", and merchants cannot turn that disclosure off.
A clear human hand-off keeps automation from becoming a dead end: the shopper always has a way to reach your team. Read more in AI chatbot disclosure and human hand-off.
How does Tycoon show what your store is missing?
In its Store Manager reports (Growth and up), Tycoon shows you the questions it could not answer as knowledge gaps, alongside the questions customers keep asking. That tells you which policy, size chart or product detail is missing from your store. Closing a gap helps the chatbot and every shopper who reads the page.
On the Tycoon plan, nightly learning goes a step further: it drafts proposed answers from your store's own pages, and each one goes live only after you approve it. A weekly "What I learned" feed shows every change, and you can undo it or turn learning off. See how learning works.
Can it answer support questions in other languages?
Yes. Tycoon detects your store's main language on install and answers each shopper in the language they write in, across 16 languages including Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Hebrew, with right-to-left layouts where needed. Every language is included on every plan, so a single support setup covers international shoppers too.
More on this in multilingual customer support on Shopify and on the languages page.
