For home, furniture & decor stores

An AI shopping assistant for furniture and home decor stores

Furniture and decor shoppers buy for a specific room, and the question is whether it will fit, match and arrive on time. Tycoon is built to ask about room, dimensions and material, then answer from your catalog and the delivery facts you approved.

What do furniture and home decor shoppers ask before they buy?

Home shoppers ask practical questions: will this sofa fit a small living room, what are the exact dimensions, is the fabric easy to clean, does this rug come in a larger size, when will it be delivered. Large items are expensive and awkward to send back, so shoppers want certainty before they commit.

The answers sit in product specs (width, depth, height, seat height), material and care notes, variant options for size and color, and the store's shipping and delivery profiles.

  • Room: living room, bedroom, home office, outdoor.
  • Dimensions: width, depth, height, and how they compare to the space.
  • Material: fabric, wood, finish, care.
  • Delivery: delivery times and shipping costs from the store's approved facts.

How does an AI shopping assistant help a furniture store sell?

An AI shopping assistant helps a furniture store by turning a vague need ("a sofa for a small room") into a few products that fit the space and the style. Tycoon is built to ask one short question, read the dimensions on each product, and suggest one to three items with a reason, each with live price and stock.

Tycoon is built to state dimensions as your product pages list them, not to estimate them. When a shopper gives the size of her space, it compares that with the listed dimensions and says which items are within it. Read more about AI product recommendations and guided selling.

Example conversation · invented store

This illustration uses an invented store, "Oakhollow Home", that sells sofas, rugs and lighting. It shows a shopper giving her room size, products filtered by listed dimensions, delivery answered from approved facts, and one optional offer. Names, dimensions and details are invented; on a real store they come from your catalog and approved facts.

Shopper: I need a sofa for a small living room. The wall is about 80 inches wide.

Assistant: Thanks. Do you prefer fabric or leather, and a light or a dark color?

Shopper: Fabric, something light.

Assistant: Two fit under 80 inches by their listed width: the Wren Loveseat at 68 inches and the Hollis Apartment Sofa at 76 inches. The Hollis is listed with a performance fabric that the product page calls easy to spot-clean. Both are in stock in Oat; I've selected Oat on the cards.

Shopper: When would the Hollis arrive?

Assistant: The store's delivery page lists white-glove delivery for sofas in 2 to 3 weeks.

Shopper: (taps Add to cart)

Assistant: It's in your cart. One idea: the matching Hollis throw pillows are offered as a pair, which costs less than two singles. Bonus: they're in the same fabric.

Which questions does it ask on each home shelf?

Each home shelf has its own deciding questions, and Tycoon asks them in the order that matters there. Furniture starts with the room and dimensions, bedding with the bed size, decor with the room and style. It asks one question at a time and skips anything the shopper already mentioned.

Deciding questions Tycoon asks first, by home shelf
ShelfAsks about, in orderWhy that order
FurnitureRoom, dimensions, materialThe room and space rule items in or out before material.
BeddingBed size, fabric, seasonBed size decides the variant; fabric and season pick the product.
DecorRoom, style, colorThe room sets the scale; style and color pick the piece.

How does it handle delivery, returns and order questions?

Tycoon states delivery times, shipping costs and free-shipping thresholds only from facts you approved, which it reads from your shipping settings and pages on install. Return and exchange questions are answered only when the shopper asks, from your approved policy. It never volunteers returns or cancellation during a sale.

On Starter and up, for a shopper signed in to your store's customer account, it can show the status of her own orders from the last 60 days when she asks; see support automation. Damaged items, assembly problems or scheduling a delivery go to a person on your team.

What won't it do in a furniture or decor store?

It will not invent dimensions, materials or delivery dates. If a product page has no depth listed, Tycoon says it does not have that detail instead of estimating it. It does not claim a fabric is pet-proof, a wood is solid or an item is sustainable unless your product page states it.

It gives no safety or installation advice beyond what your product pages and manuals state, such as anchoring a bookcase, and refers those questions to the manufacturer's instructions or your team. It does not use false urgency or fake scarcity. On Growth and up, gaps are logged so you can add answers; see how it learns.

What kind of upsell fits a home store?

In home and furniture, the natural add-on completes the room: pillows for a sofa, a rug pad for a rug, a matching lamp, or the item that unlocks free shipping. Tycoon makes at most one offer per reply, framed saving first and bonus second, and none when the shopper is upset, skeptical or hesitant.

  • Complete the room: a rug pad sized for the rug in the cart.
  • Bundle (Growth and up): a bed frame with matching nightstands, when the set costs less.
  • Free-shipping nudge (Starter and up): a candle or small decor item when the cart is just under the approved threshold.

Can it answer home shoppers in other languages?

Yes. Tycoon answers each shopper in the language they write in, across 16 languages, with right-to-left layouts for Arabic, Urdu and Hebrew. Dimensions and units are stated as your product pages list them, so a shopper writing in French sees the same measurements as your English page.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI chatbot tell a shopper if furniture will fit their room?

Tycoon compares the measurements a shopper gives with the dimensions listed on your product pages and says which items are within them. It does not estimate missing dimensions.

Does it promise delivery dates?

No. It states delivery times only from the shipping facts you approved, and order status only for a signed-in shopper's own orders from the last 60 days when she asks (Starter and up).

Can it suggest decor that matches a style?

Yes. It asks about the room or style and suggests one to three items from your catalog, each with a reason based on the product's own description.

Will it make claims about materials or durability?

Only what your product pages state. It does not invent materials, certifications or durability claims, and says so when a detail is missing.

Does it slow down my store?

The storefront loader is designed to stay around 10 KB, and the chat loads only when a shopper opens it. It appears through a theme app extension, with no theme code edits.
