Feature: order tracking

Order tracking in chat for your Shopify store

"Where's my order?" is one of the most common questions a store gets. Tycoon answers it in the chat: when a shopper signed in to your store's customer account asks, it looks up her own recent orders and tells her the status. Anything that needs a person goes to your team.

How does AI order tracking work on Shopify?

AI order tracking lets a shopper ask about an order in plain words and get the status back in the chat. With Tycoon, a shopper signed in to your store's customer account asks, Tycoon reads her own orders from the last 60 days, and it replies with the status. It acts only when she asks.

  1. The shopper opens the chat on your store and asks where her order is, in any of the 16 languages Tycoon speaks.
  2. If she is signed in to your store's customer account, Tycoon looks up her own orders from the last 60 days.
  3. It tells her the status of the order she means, in the language she wrote in.
  4. If something needs a person, such as a parcel marked delivered that never arrived, it offers a hand-off to your team.

Why answer "where is my order" in the chat?

A WISMO question is simple, but each one still lands in someone's inbox. Answering it in the chat, at the moment the shopper wonders, saves her a wait and saves your team a reply. The question is answered from the order itself, so the answer is the same one your team would give.

Order tracking in chat works best next to the basics: tracking numbers on every fulfillment, shipping notifications and a useful order status page. Our playbook on reducing WISMO tickets on Shopify covers those levers step by step.

What about privacy?

Tycoon shows a shopper only her own orders, only when she asks, and stores nothing about the order. It never reads or stores customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses, and conversations are keyed to an anonymous browser session rather than to a customer. Shoppers can wipe a conversation with "Forget this chat".

Chat transcripts are deleted automatically after your plan's history period. The details are on the security and privacy page.

What happens with guests and problem orders?

Order status in the chat is for shoppers signed in to your store's customer account. A guest who asks gets your approved shipping facts, such as delivery times, and the offer of a person from your team. Lost, late or damaged parcels need judgment, so Tycoon hands those to your team instead of guessing.

Tycoon never volunteers returns or cancellation. When a shopper asks about returns, it explains your policy as your store states it, from the facts you approved before going live.

Which plan includes order tracking?

Order tracking for your shoppers is included on Starter and every plan above it. Starter is $39 a month with a 14-day free trial, at launch pricing, billed through Shopify. The free plan covers the rest of the chat, including live prices, truth checks, AI disclosure and the hand-off to a person.
